During my quiet time this morning, reflecting on what to write for my “Gratitude Note” of the day, I read Ecclesiastes 3:11:
“He (God) has made everything beautiful in its time…”
This verse spoke directly to my spirit. It reminded me that the beauty God placed within me is not fleeting. It isn’t a temporary thing that comes and goes. It is a part of who I am, deeply rooted in my very essence.
God’s beauty in me is like His breath of life — it doesn’t fade, wither, or disappear. It remains as constant and enduring as the light He created in Genesis 1:3 when He said, “Let there be light.” That light still shines today simply because He spoke it into existence.
The Meaning of My Name
Curious about my name, I asked “AI” (Artificial Intelligence) what “Linda” means. It revealed something profound: The name Linda means “beautiful” or “pretty.” It comes from the Spanish word for beauty and is commonly used to describe someone or something pleasing to the eye. The name has been cherished across different languages and cultures.
I am 73 years old. People have spoken beauty over me my entire life by calling me Linda. Yet, on January 5, 2025, at 8:55 AM, I finally believed it. For the first time, I truly embraced and accepted the beauty God placed in me.
Seeing Yourself as God Sees You
I pray that everyone reading this begins to see themselves as God sees them. The journey to believing what God says about you can be difficult, but it is worth it.
If we want to live fulfilled lives, we must accept and walk in the identity God has given us. Others may speak truth over us repeatedly, but it only transforms us when we believe it and live it.
A quote from my reading in Quiet Prayer resonates deeply:
“I am beautiful because I am me — not because of what I do, how I look or sound, but simply because I am me.”
Thank You, Holy Spirit! I am grateful beyond words for this truth that has settled in my heart.
